Family Therapy offers great support for tweens, teens and their parents. Generally speaking, I require parental involvement and participation from all the families I see; this looks different for each family and from session to session. Family therapy often addresses:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Adjusting to the loss/addition of family members

  • Healing from trauma

  • Behavioral problems, including ADHD

  • Attachment disorders

  • Identity Issues

  • Risky behaviors, including suicidality and self-harm

  • Strained relationships between child(ren) and parent(s)/caregiver(s)

Co-Parenting

Moreover, many children and adolescents split time between different households and families; this is often referred to as co-parenting. . Like single-household parenting, co-parenting is no easy task yet comes with its unique challenges. Re-Story therapy provides support, education, and teaches communication skills for co-parents to collaborate in raising their child(ren).
